Vision, Mission, and Strategic Objective
Council’s Vision is a simple statement which is forward looking, achievable and communicates Council’s image for the City in the future. It provides the focus for Council’s strategic goals which are statements of broad direction or intent for Council’s principal objectives. In the next five years, Arusha City Council (ACC) expects to be guided by the following Vision.
“Arusha City Council aspires to be the best City Council that provide better and Sustainable Services in a Self Sustaining Economy by the year 2025”
The above Vision is expected to be achieved through the followings Mission Statements. The Mission statement indicates what is to be done, how it has to be done and why it has to be done. Therefore, the Mission statement for the Arusha City Council is;
“Arusha City, in collaboration with internal and External Stakeholders, intend to Increase the Capacity of its multicultural community to develop a growing and sustainable economy, social wellbeing and Environmental sustainability through good governance practices”
In order to contribute towards the realization of the Vision and Mission, the Arusha City Council during the financial years 2011/12 to 2015/2016 will have to fulfill the following developmental broad Objectives;
i. Provide economic development support services in order to build increased expertise in Social and economic development as well as environmental conservation.
ii.Improve social sector services in order to enhance proper utilization of resources as a means of eradicating/eliminating poverty.
iii.Strengthen and promote social economic development in both rural and urban areas in accordance to the stipulated regulations.
iv.Collect adequate revenue this is satisfactory in provision of essential services to residents.
v.Assist in building management capacity to ward experts and Streets leaders.
vi. Facilitate technical training to council experts at lower levels of local government (Ward, Village) so as to raise their performance and efficiency.
vii. Provide training to council’s top management in order to build their capacity to deliver improved and adequate services to the people.
viii.Provide council experts with appropriate and adequate working gear and other required facilities.
ix.Have in place and implement strategies and other mechanisms to raise adequate resources for services delivery in collaboration with other stakeholders.
x.Provide efficient administrative service to the management staff and deal with administrative issues and problems from the wards, Institutions and the general public.
